The housing crisis fuels the growth of Tent City, and Mayor Stirfry doesn’t like the optics! As the lockdowns’ economic fallout drives the laptop class out of downtown, the city’s working group gives the Mayor a bright idea: criminalize homelessness to shut down Tent City, and at the same time juice the government’s swollen budget with more revenue from private prisons.
Doing his best to protect Tent City’s residents, Alterokomandante Patrizio Della Luna Ultrasinístra calls Chloe Amerst of Legacy Media News to help publicize their plight. But when the cops tell him they have 24 hours to vacate the empty lot or face the wrath of their militarized forces, the residents of Tent City have no option left besides a desperate gambit to buy themselves time before a cryptocurrency windfall clears and they can afford permanent housing.
